Knowlege Network India (P) Ltd. (KNIPL) was set up in February 2000 to develop its own content for education and training.
KNIPL benifited from its association with CSU 'Charls Sturt University', the leading provider of Education in Australia by launching their Management and IT courses through blended learning.
KNIPL is also and ATI for Center for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Pune (Ministry of Communication & IT) and has done number of courses on Advanced Computing and Multi-Media.
KNIPL has also conducted together online tests for certain corporate like ICICI InfoTech etc.
KNIPL has trained over thousand personnel for the Indian Armed Forces on various IT related courses.

Dr. Rakesh Khurana (Chairman)
Dr. Rakesh Khurana : Founder of KNIPL, Dr. Rakesh Khurana has had over 3 decades of experience in leading academic and training institutes in India, Europe, Far East, USA, Africa and South Asia and it spans to teaching and setting up of leading management institutions and new curricula in different parts of the world. Was chairman of committees which launched admission tests for Management and other disciplines (CAT/MAT) in 70’s-80’s which have become the leading tests in this part of the world. As the first Director of the school of management IGNOU, was responsible for developing the content for management courses in mid 80’s leading to MBA which became the single largest management program in the world. Set up All India Management Association’s (AIMA), Centre for Management Services (CME) and was responsible for launching the experiment of education and training thru satellite (TDCC of ISRO, SINET etc.) in 90’s. His academic preparation includes degrees in engineering, management, economics studied in institutions like Punjab Engineering College, IIM (A), Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern, Illinois, USA. Has been on board of many companies - Banks, Mutual Funds, FMCG and has authored / co authored many books. He takes personal interest in development of content and systems to support large numbers of trainees along with his network of experienced professionals He is a Trustee of KNI Trust, President of Knowlege Network Society & is the Chairperson for the T.S Grewal Memorial Foundation.
Ms. Ashita Khurana (Executive Director)
Ms. Ashita Khurana is an MBA (Marketing), has gained experience in different continents, was actively involved in production for Audio/Video courseware for an Educational Channel. She is involved in understanding client requirements and liasoning between different functions. She focuses on Strategic relationships, Global Clients, Marketing.
She would be responsible to Deliver support and development projects as per the signed up SLA’s and productivity commitments. Understanding project requirements, Project planning, Deliver projects (including staffing, ramping up, resolving technical conflicts, planning, risk management, change management and expectation management) as per committed timelines and budget, Ensuring compliance to KNI’s quality systems and processes Responsible for customer satisfaction and managing customer expectations.
She has over 7 years exposure in Elearning, content development and web technologies.
KNIPL SWOT Analysis
Largest online supplier to BIFS sector over a quarter of a million persons trained since May’05 when online training guidelines of IRDA were issued.
Conducted over 6 million online tests for the same.
Robust software and software systems developed, tested and operated in tough Indian Infrastructure conditions.
Deepest penetration of training and assessment online in India- over 800 locations.
Achieved economies of scale due to in house development of softwares, E-content, and sharing the above economies with clients thus reducing price of 1 hour online training to 10% of what was available 2 years ago and the same ratio of reduction compared with offline training. For assessments, this reduction has the potential of reducing costs to 1% of onsite/online assessments offered by others. There is a kind of Moore’s Law which seems to operate in online training and assessment.
In tune with current technical developments for e.g., software platforms with asp.net framework, database oriented learning objects, latest SCORM standards, UNICODE specifications for all languages including Indic languages , seamless delivery on/ from handheld devices.
Developed very strong statistical base for insurance industry for India, Asia, Takaful. This has led to formation of BIFS statistics and analytics division which supports development of learning objects.
Analytics for ULIPS, all LI Co’s products has led to development of product knowledge tests for all major insurance products available in Indian market place; this database is updated weekly and is capable of making product knowledge assessments with 24 hours notice in English and 72 hours notice in other INDIC languages. The manner of making test oriented text oriented assessments is to make them small screen/mobiles compatible. Restricting each question to 150 characters and thus making them sharp.
The above methodology has been seamlessly deployed for sending and receiving information from handheld devices at approximate cost of Re. 1 per SMS, the data can be accessed from servers as well as fed into them. For e.g., enabling financial planning advisors to report in data through handheld devices, the development of this technology has the possibility of making a major impact on timeliness and cost of reporting.
1st in India to develop multimedia multi-INDIC languages (12) E-content for basics of life insurance (Mapped to IRDA/III IC-33 syllabus). Proactive work already on for the “new” syllabus to be applicable from 1st Nov 2007.
